What we Believe

THE HOLY BIBLE

We believe that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV) God’s Word is without error and completely sufficient to provide mankind with all they need for salvation and to walk in righteousness.

GOD

We believe in one God who exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. God is eternal and unchanging. God is the creator and sustainer of the world. God is sovereign over all eternity past, present, and future. God alone is worthy of our worship and allegiance.

SALVATION

We believe “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 ESV). Further, “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 ESV) Therefore, “if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 ESV) Jesus’ death on the cross was the only sufficient sacrifice to atone for the sins of the world. Jesus died and was raised to life on the third day in order that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13 ESV)

MANKIND

We believe “God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27 ESV) Gender is a gift of God and something that should be celebrated. God designed man and woman unique and of equal value and worth. God designed man and woman to be in relationship “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24 ESV)

THE CHURCH

The local church is a group of baptized believers who God has placed together in a specific place and time to accomplish His purposes on earth. This purpose is to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I (Jesus) have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV).
